Ruben Dos Santos · March 24, 2025

Welcome to the Planning an Advocacy Campaign in the Context of Victims’ Rights training. This course is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and tools to advocate effectively for victims’ rights, helping you create campaigns that drive meaningful and lasting change. Advocacy is a powerful tool for influencing policies, shaping public opinion, and securing justice for victims of crime and human rights violations. It goes beyond raising awareness—it is about creating tangible changes in laws, policies, and societal attitudes. In this training, we will explore what advocacy truly means, how to develop a strong campaign strategy, and how to implement it effectively. You will also see a real example of a strategy and its planning.

Throughout this course, we will cover key topics such as:

  • Understanding Advocacy and Its Role in Victims’ Rights – Learn the definition, scope, and levels of advocacy, along with the importance of lobbying in advancing victims’ rights.
  • Developing an Advocacy Strategy – Identify issues, set goals, gather evidence, and craft compelling messages that resonate with stakeholders.
  • Implementing an Advocacy Campaign – Discover effective advocacy activities, leverage media strategies, engage in lobbying efforts, and monitor campaign success.
