116006: One number. One standard. Equal Support for Every Victim

Today, we mark the European Day for Victims of Crime with our annual symposium.

Today is also a central moment in Victim Support Europe’s 2026 campaign: “116 006 Helpline: One Number. One Standard. Equal Support for Every Victim.”

At the heart of this campaign is the 116 006 Helpline Pledge, which called on frontliners, NGOs, and citizens to support the establishment of victim helplines in the 13 EU Member States where they do not yet exist, and to ensure that all services are set up in line with VSE quality standards.

At today’s symposium, we are presenting the results of this pledge and reaffirming a shared commitment to ensure that every victim of crime, everywhere in Europe, can access the same level of support through one single number: 116 006.
