Amy O’Neill will be in conversation with Jelena Watkins, Co-director of the Centre for Collective Trauma.
Amy is a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing and a mental health professional. Jelena is a psychotherapist specialising in disaster mental health and a 9/11 bereaved family member.
This is the latest in our series of ‘In Conversation’ webinars in which guest speakers reflect on experiences of loss, trauma, resilience and longer term survival. These are powerful and inspirational stories offering attendees an opportunity to listen, reflect and – if they wish – to ask questions of those in conversation.
Both speakers will draw on their professional and personal experience of dealing with terrorism-related trauma during their conversation. Themes will include coping after collective trauma, the value of peer support, finding resilience over the longer term and implications for professional helpers.
