I like the simplicity and shortness of the videos for both modules easy to understand and follow. I would love to see also references to victims' stories from other places in the world apart from Middle East countries and Africa : for example south and Central America. Thank you.

Embora não trabalhe num local onde haja uma comunidade migrante muito densa, é sempre importante que se estejamos dotados de ferramentas que nos permitam intervir enquanto profissionais de saúde. Entendendo que a saúde e doença são condicionadas pela cultura. É preciso perceber, mais que julgar!

The course does a great job of introducing the concept of intercultural interactions and building on their importance. The module on interpretation is very informative and the examples are so relevant.

The last video was so disturbing! Thankfully, now we have tools for translating in real time to serve as double check. 1. The interpreter shall be prosecuted. 2. The Officials were overwhelmed by the paperwork that had to be filled in for the Lady. The increase of paperwork&complex procedures is becoming very dangerous, i.e. first responders have no time to act bc they fill out forms!!!!

It is very informative and challenges your biases. I particularly enjoyed the videos in the course that served as 'concrete' examples of the different issues discussed.

I am glad to have acquired a sufficient background in this fields in order to work with VSE on a future project on harmful practices.

It was good to get another refresher on difference in behavior and how important it is not to interpret too quickly. I found especially the last video very interesting. You feel how misunderstood the woman feels and you notice that body posture brings a lot to language. It helps to keep the high emotions we sometimes experience in people in perspective.

This course gives a great overview of what is intercultural competence. Also the fact that there is a mix of theoretical videos and other forms of media such as short movies etc allows to keep focus and grasp the main concepts.

Whilst I was aware of most of the topics discussed I still considered it a good introduction to the life course as it gave a general overview and reminder of key points

Un corso sulla mediazione linguistica per italiani lo avrei preferito in italiano...non con i sottotitoli velocissimi e la voce in inglese che sovrasta le informazioni. Per me è stato ostico focalizzare l'attenzione sulle slide e allo stesso tempo sulle traduzioni. Avrei preferito ricevere prima un PDF con gli argomenti oppure le slide. Essendo un corso base avrei preferito così. Grazie

This course is designed mostly for those who are starting their connection with victims. The quizzes shouldn't use mostly the "Which is NOT" formula, since it can cause confusion.

I think some questions could be worded more clearly. For example, instead of asking, "What are the 2 new facts/information you learned from this topic?", it could be phrased as, "Did you learn any new facts/information about this topic? If so, which ones?". Additionally, I suggest including more multiple-choice questions and fewer open-ended ones, and avoiding formulations like "which is NOT".

The course is pretty long and fragmented, can be a little confusing to follow the subsections of the sections, and save for a few minor technical glitches - very interesting and providing useful information on effective communication with victims.
